Meet Dr. Kim

 

Dr. King Kim grew up in Beaverton, Oregon just outside of Portland.  He graduated from Aloha High School, then obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.  Dr. Kim then began traveling and working domestically and internationally.  He then went on to earn a Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and subsequently a certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Nova Southeastern University/Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  During his residency, Dr. Kim also trained at Memorial Regional Hospital, Baptist Hospital, South Miami Hospital, and Doctors Hospital all in Miami.  Dr. Kim then completed a fellowship in facial cosmetic surgery at Baptist Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi. He is currently an adjunct clinical professor at Nova Southeastern University/Broward General Medical Center Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is also in private practice in Melbourne, Florida.   Dr. Kim is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

 

Dr. Kim is currently on staff at the Melbourne Same Day Surgery Center and three hospitals:  Holmes Regional Medical Center, Viera Hospital, Wuesthoff Hospital in Melbourne. His professional interests include: Facial cosmetic surgery, TMJ surgery, Minimally invasive oral and maxillofacial surgery, Correcting facial and jaw deformities, Facial and jaw reconstruction, Wisdom teeth removal, Dental implant surgery, and Repair of traumatic facial injuries. He is the only oral and maxillofacial fellowship trained facial cosmetic surgeon in central coastal Florida, and is co-author of the textbook “Cosmetic Surgery for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon”, which was released to the public in September 2010.  Dr. Kim is also well published in the oral and maxillofacial surgery journals, and has contributed chapters into various textbooks. He also has volunteered his services in Guanaja, Honduras, and Aberdeen, Mississippi.  He enjoys doing mission work, and plans to make multiple trips to medically underserved areas.

 

When not working, Dr. Kim enjoys spending time with his two boys, snow skiing, scuba diving, golfing, playing tennis, and participating in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
