Brow Lift & Forehead Lift
Dr. Kim performs Brow Lift and Forehead Lift to raise eyebrows and reduce ridges and furrows on the forehead, thus creating a smoother, more youthful appearance. This procedure can be performed in conjunction with other surgeries. Pain is generally minimal, but swelling and bruising occurs frequently. This procedure can be performed in the office setting with or without intravenous anesthesia.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where are the incisions made? Incisions are placed inconspicuously just behind the hairline or at the hairline. The forehead and brows are elevated and excess skin is removed. The flap is then sutured.
How long is the procedure? The brow/forehead lift procedure will be done in the office operatory located in the 7155 Turner Road office. This procedure takes approximately 1 to 2 hours to complete the surgery.
What can be expected after the procedure? Patients report very little pain after the brow lift/forehead lift procedure. The most common complaint is bruising and swelling following the procedure. The postoperative instructions contain details that will accelerate your healing time and maximize your surgical outcome.
I wear contact lenses, will I be able to wear them following the surgery? Yes, you can wear your contact lenses following the surgery.
How long will I need to alter my normal routine? You have just undergone a surgical procedure. You will need to restrict your normal actives, exercise regimens and any activity involving heavy lifting or straining for a period of time. It is acceptable to do some light walking 72 hours after your surgery. Avoid bending over sharply, performing any strenuous exercise or lifting heavy object for at least one week following surgery.
How about driving? You will need someone to drive you home from the surgical procedure. You will also need to refrain from driving for as long as you are taking prescription pain medications.
What can I do to ensure the best result? There are several things that you can do to prepare for a successful surgery. If you smoke you should not smoke four (4) weeks before the brow lift and forehead lift and four (4) weeks after the brow lift and forehead lift. If you consume alcohol you should not consume any one (1) week prior and for one (1) week following your brow lift/forehead lift. Do not attempt to lose weight in the two (2) weeks prior to surgery. Will insurance cover a brow lift/forehead lift? Your insurance company may pay for part or all of the cost of surgery if the procedure is performed as a result of visual impairment. Because every insurance carrier is different, it is recommended that you check with your own insurance company to determine the level of coverage
